Thank you for inviting Boomerang and using it as your staff management app to streamline your team's workflow. On this page, we will guide you through getting started with Boomerang and configuring the basic settings.
To access the dashboard, you must have the Administrator permission in Discord or hold a custom role with the Administrator or Edit Dashboard permission enabled.
Configuring PermissionsCopy link to section
We strongly recommend setting up Boomerang's permissions as the first step in the setup procedure. Boomerang uses custom roles to manage dashboard access, letting you assign only the permissions each role needs and link it to your existing Discord roles.
Use the procedures listed below when adjusting your permissions:
- Navigate to the Boomerang dashboard, and select "Manage" by hovering over the selected server.
- Click Permissions in the top-left corner of the screen.
- Click Create Role to open the role creation panel.
- Enter a Role Name
- Under Discord Roles, select the Discord role(s) that should be linked to this custom role.
- Select the individual Permissions you want to grant this role.
- Click Create Role to save.
Once created, roles appear under Custom Roles and can be edited or deleted at any time using the pencil and trash icons.
Managing PluginsCopy link to section
After you've configured your permissions, you can enable and adjust the plugins that you would like to use on your server.
- Go to Overview in the top-left corner of your screen
- Click Enable, then select Configure on the plugins you want to activate.
- Adjust the settings as needed to meet your server's needs.
